Bottle (in NZ). Sweet caramel aroma. A tart bitterness on the palate, with a malt sweetness you’d expect for the style, but this is overpowering. I’m sure it is popular with the punters though.

A very, very nice Vienna and I was really quite suprised at it, as I didn’t really have much info going into this beer. The aroma had a huge caramel profile, slightly vegetal but mostly it’s just the sweet caramel angle, which was nice albeit one dimensional. Caramel sweetness on the palate really takes front and center also with some light nut and honey notes, but again...heaping doses of caramel. Nothing heavy, it finishes really clean and it’s quite easy drinking. 2 for 2 tonight with damned good, easy drinking beers.

30/11/2009. 12oz bottle purchased in San Diego and brought back by a friend of a friend in a suitcase. Amber, clear, very very grainy and sweet on the nose - reminiscent of honey on multi-grain toast. Similar character in the mouth with the sweetness overpowering the toast and hops. Drinkable but far from moreish.

Toasted malts, some sweet caramel malts, and light hoping. It’s refreshing, crisp, and easy to drink. Nothing bad here, just nothing great.

Pours a very nice amber with an orange hue. Aroma is caramel and hops. Taste is malty sweet with floral hops. Not much of an aftertaste. The sweetness limits the drinkability.

Pours an amber color just like its name. A bit spicy with a dry finish. Taste of sweet caramel and nuts throughout, a surprisingly decent amber ale that I would drink again.

On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Light aroma of caramel. Light-bodied, a little caramel and a whiff of butter. Finishes dry with hardly any hops to be found. 070709
