Dark copper/light orange with thin white head. Caramel nose, along with slight spiciness. Palate is complex and the strength. Some sour, some citrus, malty, tiny bubbles. Aroma is a bit weak but has some fruits and spices. Sweetish flavor with some malt, caramel, fruits, some spiciness and a dry spicy finish. Rounded mouthfeel. A nice Tripel. Some light apricot and orange blossom honey character. Soft and fruity with a light clove and a bit of cherry as well. Lean malts, a bit of sweetness but not cloying or sticky in any way. Light clove, soft fruit and a nice lingering spiciness. There is a nice balance of soft clove and fruit. Lean but soft spiciness. Nice mild Belgian yeast clove and banana aroma. Very good. My favorite Karl Strauss beer so far. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 26, 2008 On tap @ Hamilton’s San Diego. Sweet Georgia peach comes through in the aroma of this sunset orange hazed brew. Citrus, banana, and buttermilk biscuits linger on the palate. Alcohol is invisible. Pours a slightly hazed sunny yellow with some lacing. Banana and were the predominant aromas.
