The aroma had notes of toasted malt and smelled like fresh grain. Notes of coffee and light hops as well. The flavor was of lightly roasted malt and some coffee notes. Dark brown colour. Caramelly, buttery nose with some smokiness. Butterscotchy flavour, light smokey/peaty and buttery malty with smoke again. A somewhat complex brown ale. SG (456), San Clemente, California, USA
