Bottle from the World Market Winter Beer Box! Poured in an AR-MEN glass. Light copper with an off-white head that went three-fingers. Nice caramel aroma with a hint of grassy hop. Not quite medium body - thinnish even - with frothy carbonation. It’s bready, and there’s a lot of flavor in it. Not much hop, so I guess the malt combo is showing its stuff. Not sweet though. Refreshing actually.

Very nice amber color. Smells about right for the style. Sweet but way too much corn notes in this. Could use some extra malt or some rye to balance.

On tap at the Carlsbad, Ca Karl Strauss brewpub. It poured as a clear amber and had a sweet malty aroma. It had a nicely balanced malty flavor. This beer had a flavorfull "biscuity" after taste which was very appealing. When you are not in the mood for a hoppy beer but would like one that goes with any food on your plate, try this one. You won’t be disappointed.

Appearance: Pours a dark amber that starts with a decent head that completely subsides. The body is rather clear. Aroma: Sweet and bready grain initially, also some caramel notes as well. Taste: Burnt sugars, bready grain and ever so slight bitter hops. Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a clean finish. Overall: A unique, yet really familiar Oktoberfest lager.
