riversideAK (1649), Shoreline, Washington, USA Mar 10, 2007 Updated: Oct 3, 2007 Aroma is sweet toffee and some dried fruit. Appearance is a darker red than what most would consider an amber ale. Flavor is toffee, fruit, some vanilla. It is exceptionally smooth and easy to drink, but this stuff gives me a wicked hangover for some reason. Good for an amber. More flavor than most.
RunDWP (180), San Jose, California, USA Aug 13, 2008 Sampler on tap at downtown San Diego brewpub. Light caramel aroma. Roasty and caramel malt flavor, with hop bitterness at the finish. Nicely balanced. yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at the brewpub in Carlsbad. Pours cloudy hazzlenut brown with a lacing white head. Dry and malty aroma. Caramel malty and dry flavour. Slight breadish. Medium dry and mild bitter finish. K8 (1), Pittsburgh, USA does not count Jul 3, 2008 I had this for the first time in San Diego. I am not usually a fan of ale, but this immediately caught my attention. The first taste reminded me of a stout with a burned, warm flavor, but with a very clean finish. I wish they sold this one in PA. BOLTZ7555 (528), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 28, 2008 Biscuit and mild sweetness...with a crimson body and extremely small head. Just wasn’t impressed by anything from this brewery...but the food was pretty damn good!!! BMan1113VR (920), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jun 17, 2008 On tap at Universal City location. Aroma of currants, some alcohol, a bit of caramel and maybe some smoke or scotch. Pours with an off-white head with some lacing over an amber body. Taste is of soggy malts. Its too fizzy and a bit harsh.
