omhper (12147), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 10, 2006 Bottled, thanks Bov! Cloudy golden, no head. Sweaty banana aroma. Sweet with clean, hard mouthfeel and medium bodied. A very simplistic brew from it’s restrained esters to it’s hard and primitive malt character. Bov (5403), Bienne, Switzerland Sep 13, 2006 <!-- i -->pet bottle; brewed and bottled in Belgium for Aldi Suisse<!-- /i --> - very cloudy dark amber-orange colour; little head which reduces quickly; heavy nose of corn and banana; highly carbonated, mainly sweet with some tart acidity, medium malt body at best; the finish is quite dry and short, showing more banana and wheaty notes - one weizen like thousands other weizen ... but not bad at all JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Aug 24, 2006 Orange beer with greenish shine, fully hazy; thick, creamy, fine-bubbled and persistent head. Very yeasty nose, chalk, woodpulp, fishoil, and even some banana. Esters & phenols à gogo. Again dry, and, I’m tempted to say, fishy taste. Something oily, both in taste as in MF. Wheat, vague citrus, maybe some dry barkspices. But generally very uncharacteristic flavourprofile. There seems to be a try at hopping, but they plucked nettles instead. I think. The oilyness and wheat slickness gone, not much left besides CO². Well. This might be a try to veer away from stereotypic HW’ens. But, IMO, the experiment failed dramatically. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Aug 17, 2006 Dark yellow colored, cloudy appearance. Little white head. Banana, spices and fenols in aroma, not very good aroma though, some disturbing tones there. Medium bodied. Some berries and mild banana in flavor, also some unclean dryness in aftertaste. Not very crispy brew. ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 23, 2004 50 cl plastic bottle. Brewed by Martens in Belgium for the Aldi supermarkets in Germany. Pale yellow and very unclear. Extremely persistent head. Would have received a 5 in "apperance", if not a big lump of yeast ended up in my glas. Some sulphur in the nose, fades slowly. A bit watery and light taste with some subdued acidity, but no real funky esters - quite refreshing. Good mouthfeel and nice powerful carbonation. An average, but not bad, hefe-weizen.
