Draft at the brewpub. An unclear golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of rye, but also light notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with strong spicy notes as well as notes of rye, leading to a dry bitter finish.

The Revenue Rye is a big crowd pleaser at Karlsson. Claimed to be a customer favorite, this rye is crisp and refreshing beer fit for all seasons. Poured a pale copper color with a thick whitish head and left a decent lacing on the glass. Nose of sticky caramel malts and fruity hops. Sweet, dry, bitter finish. Not too bad.

Sampled on tap while visiting the "Oregon Nite" hospitality room during the American Breweriana Association Annual Meeting (ABA) in Portland, Oregon. Labeled as "Karlsson Revenue Rye Ale" pours a cloudy golden pale yellow brew with a thick off-white head and leaves behind a decent lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, flowery hops and a touch of citrus. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a dry multi-grain malt flavor. Finish is sweet on the tongue, smooth with a dry flowery bitter aftertaste.

Pours amber with a smooth white head. Very sweet and dry rye flavor blending nicely with a crystal caramel malt flavor. Hops are floral and a touch spicy in the finish. Well balanced with a smooth finish and a nice driness from the rye.

(Revenue Rye) - Big bready flavors, that are light and smooth, very well balanced. Has some zesty spiciniess, but just a hint of of it. An easy drinking spring beer.
