Ungstrup (10801), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 6, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A copper colored beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and alcohol, leading to a dry and slightly woody finish. Nice body. Angeloregon (1488), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 17, 2007 On tap at Karlsson in Sandy, Oregon--Poured a clouded amber-copper body with a two-finger whie head. The head disappeared but the lacing remainded well in tact. Nose of sticky sweet malts and sweet earthy sugars. Solid mouth feel with a nice sweet, slightly bitter finish. Creamy and enjoyable. Skyview (2641), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 15, 2007 Sampled on tap while visiting the "Oregon Nite" hospitality room during the American Breweriana Association Annual Meeting (ABA) in Portland, Oregon. Labeled as "Karlsson Sock Knocker Scotch Ale," pours a hazy copper amber brew with a nice off-white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, toffee, and a touch of green vegetables. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with a good balance of caramel malt and flowery hop flavors. Finish is smooth, creamy with a sweet malty aftertaste. DA (2252), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Nov 24, 2006 On tap at the 2006 spring beer festival. Very flavorful scottish ale from this new Oregon brewery. So far I have been very impressed with their beers. Malty and earthy flavor with a warming toastiness and sweet caramel taste. Finishes with a light floral hopping and herbal spiciness that accompanies a light bitterness. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Apr 18, 2006 I think they really nailed it with this one. A very true to style Scotch ale. Colors like a bright new penny, Earthy and rich, with just a hint of spiciness, lots of caramel and toffee. Refreshing!
