(Bottled) Very dark reddish brown with a small, tanned head. Sweetish aroma of caramel, dark fruit, rye-puddingy malt. Sweetish flavor, in the style of Belgian stouts/oud bruins - yet not as cloying as many of those. Not stout-like roasty, but has dried fruit and rye pudding instead. Medium-bodied, slightly thin and sugary palate with pretty high carbonation. A sweetish and a bit thin, but quite pleasant and easily drinkable brew. Dubbel would match the style better, IMO.

Bottle @ Arendsnest. Sold to me as a dubbel/massive ale style beer. Reddish brown colour, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malts, brown sugar. Flavour is sweet, dark fruits, brown sugar, with a roasted malts bitterness and a little sourness. Very nice beer, lots of flavours.

Bottle, thx to Maria. It pours a well-carbonated, reddish copper body with a nice, dense, creamy beige head. It’s slightly sourish on the nose, with caramel sweetness and soy sauce. Sweet, malty and roasted flavor, more or less sugary sweet, with a little spicy touch and some sourness in the background. Full-bodied, fizzy, warming and a bit sticky. The finish is sweet and lasting. Quite nice one, even though it’s not the most true to styke stout I’ve had. (080412)

Courtesy of Bierkoning. Dark, red-brown with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice and candy sugar. The flavour has sweetness, notes of licorice, slightly burnt candy sugar, light alcohol and the finish is slightly dry. It has a nice body, bit it’s not what I connect with a stout.

Deep brown of color with a brown head. An aroma of candis, sweets, caramel and molasse. A flavor of sweets, prunes, alcohol and roasted hints.

Poured a translucent dark brown, with red hues and a large & lasting head. Malty on the nose, slightly sour also. Hints of dried fruits, liqourice, coffee and soap. Sweet and full-bodied on the palate, lots of vanilla, sweetened coffee. Simple and straight-forward.
