Caramel, honey and citrus flavours. Also strong lacing, grassy and hoppy. An interesting pilsener. Papsoe (15073), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Hazy, fully golden beer with a small, white head. A touch of spices in the nose. Weak notes of malt and ginger (!) with a light bitter finish. If this is a pils, it’s definitely a weird one. 280705 Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2004 (PresticE or PresticA? http://www.pint.nl/nedbier/brouwerij.htm lists both, describing PresticE as a 5% amber, the PresticA as a 5% pils. My label reads PresticE very clearly, and as clearly says it is a luxus pils... So, unless the brewery says otherwise, I considered them to be identical)
Good white head, fed by lively carbonation; deep-golden colour with greenish shine, some haze. Grainy nose, bit grassy, garden herbs. Quite bitter taste, herbal bitter rather than hoppy, but quite refined. Dry character, virtually no restsweetness. So dry it has virtually no refreshing properties left. Light to medium bodied all the same, powdery texture. Surprising pilsener. At least, it’s original. Hence, good marks

Malty, sweet, hint of citrus, light. Boring but still surprised that a Dutch micro brewery could brew such a strange and not really bad pilsener. bierkoning (6071), La Tropica, Netherlands

Only a hint of onion in the aroma. Apple flavor, clean but very little hopbitterness. Bottled in january ’03, but hasn’t lost a bit of its freshness. Could be an american type lager. Bottle from 2007, sold as Kasparus Prestice. Orange blonde color, cloudy. Shrimp juice in the salty and fishy aroma. The fishiness returns in the flavor, with some orange and yeast. Smells and tastes like seafood, that has been added to the wort.
