Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 30, 2005 A hazy orange beer with a white head. The aroma is light, but what is there is sweet and primarily yeasty. The flavor is malty with notes of oranges, leading to a dry end. Dixen (1465), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 9, 2005 Sweet nose of citrus, oranges and some yeast. Yellow colored body, medium sized white head. Weak flavor, quite sweetish. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 30, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Pilsener golden with a white, creamy head. Somewhat sweet, citrusy aromas. Rather light body with a soft, light citrusy sweetness - oranges. But this contains no less than 6 additives (E-numbers)! 280705 joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 30, 2005 Bottled.
Hazy yellow coloured with a small white head.
Aroma of vegetables and fruits with spicy notes.
Flavour of spices with notes of vegetables and fruits.
Nice hoppy finish. SilkTork (3865), Rochester, Kent, England Aug 2, 2004 Bottled March 03. Wheat beer packed with adjuncts. This beer contains E422 (used as anti-freeze for cars, but can also give body to beer), E110 & E124 (colourings that cause a wide variety of reactions including vomiting and hyperactivity), Sodium Benzoate (which is used both as a preservative and to disguise the taste of poor quality food) and citric acid from low grade lemons.
I drank mine chilled - I would hate to experiment and try this warmed up. Anyway - it tastes artificial and chemical and just plain nasty. I personally don’t mind if a brewer plays around to create a fun drink with additives, but this one is simply not to my taste. There is little fun here, just a bitter flavour that could be spices, old hops, or any of the E numbers tipped in by the mad scientists who concocted this. The nearest flavour I could relate to is one of those ice pops that as I kid I used to buy - they came in long plastic condoms and were packed with preservatives and articicial flavourings - hey, just like this little sucker!
Seriously - save your palate and your body, avoid this. It’s a drain pour - and Joris has just gone down in my estimation by giving this garbage a 3.1 and saying "It isn’t really bad."
