Slightly hazy, medium orange brown body with a medium-lasting creamy white head and some lattice lacing. Fruity yeast dough flavour has a bit of toasted biscuit. Medium body has a little zing. Nice yeast characteristic, tasty and repeatable.

(3+) Mild aroma, pale malt, cereals and wheat notes. (6+) Flavour is light, pale malts, light cereal grains and a light bitterness throughout. Average palate borders on light. Bit dull but does what it set out to do. On Tap, Humpy’s, Anchorage DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA

The first beer in the lineup is their blonde, and this beer really sets the stage for what is to come. This blonde is not your typical light beer absent of character. It boasts a light, but pleasant, spicy hop flavor that balances the lightly sweet grainy/corny malts. The medium body is also very respectable for the style. In the nose, aromas mirror the flavor, with honey and slightly grainy and corny malts balanced by light hops. Golden in color and a bit hazy. The quarter-inch off-white head shows solid retention while leaving some patchy lace on the glass. Not my style of beer, but because of the care the brewer took to make a golden ale with character, I still find myself enjoying it. finnful (2), Nikiski, Alaska, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 10, 2008 One of the best tasting blonde ales I have ever had. There is no other beer I would rather have with BBQ, and that is pretty important.
