22-Jan-08 (Draft: Kassik’s Kenai Brew Stop in Nikiski, AK) This straightforward porter offers dry, roasty malts, chocolate and a pleasant smokiness while only hitting the palate with medium bitterness. It is medium in body and has a clean, roasty finish. Aromas of dark chocolate and dry, roasty malts are minimally sweet-smelling. Opaque and very dark brown in color with a slight ruddy hue at the edges. Half-inch of creamy, dark-tan head settles to a filmy layer and wide ring. A nice, well-made porter.

Sampled at the ’08 GABBF. Dark beer with mahogany hues when held up to the light. Creamy brown head. Sweel grain nose with some roarsty notes. Flavors of sweet coffee, roasted grains, chocolate and some burnt toast.

Pours an opaque black with a light brown head. Aroma is malty, chocolate, and some roast. Flavor is malty, roasty, and dark chocolate.
