Pours a dark and clear ruby colour with a small size head and loads of carbonation.
Smell is ofcourse that of cherries, but not so much that it is overwhelming.
Taste on the other hand is a bit too mich of the cherries.
Very sweet, goes down a little warm, but aftertaste also almost only the cherries.

Nov 21, 2008 Under the ’Kasteel Rouge’ label. Very dark red with a pinkish head. Bittersweet cherrystone aroma. Sweet fruity taste soon yields a sharp, dry finish. I’ve had a few bland, syruppy cherry beers lately. This was pretty artificial, but a step in the right direction.

Nov 20, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a red beer with a reddish head. Good sourness. A nice bite with the swallow. A hint of vinegar showing up. Lightly woody with a huge amount of cherries in the finish.

Nov 19, 2008 Reviewed 11/16/2008 (Tap @ The Stables, St. Louis, MO): Very cool presentation in a Kasteel glass with a castle on the stem of the goblet-like glass. Fruity natural smells. Not an overwhelming aroma. Pours a very dark blood red body, with a lasting frothy pink head. Has a sweet aroma, very cherry. Effervescent. Tart cherry taste. Nice fruitiness. Very carbonated, soft mouthfeel. Would go great with a sweet dessert.

Nov 19, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a beautiful clear red with a small, rough, pinkish head. Sweet cherry aroma. Medium body with very sweet notes of cherry and marzipan. No real bitterness. A bit too much on the sweet side. 290308

Nov 16, 2008 (Tap) Pours a ruby red color with a faint pink hue to the small head. Aroma of ripe mashed cherries. Taste is rather complex, with cherries obviously dominating. As the beer warmed, I got some fleeting amaretto, vanilla and oak (or other wood) notes as well. Rather tart cherry flavor balanced the sweetness pretty nicely. Alcohol is well hidden. Very enjoyable!

Nov 2, 2008 Fruit beer is generally not my thing, but the bright tart cherries, mixed with sweet malt, vanilla and alcohol warmth added up to something I like well enough to try again.
