Winy and sugary (caramelish) with some dark fruit. You can really feel the alcohol in that one (the warm felling). A good belgian strong beer. jeremytoni (1110), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Very sweet, pot wine -like aroma of grapes and spices. Dark brown with very thin head.
Taste is unbearably sweet and alcoholic, a combination that I personally detest. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA

A very malty, sweet scent with figs, raisins and spices. A syrupy sweet flavor that showed the alcohol as it warmed. Got super sweet, almost cloying in the finish. A decent strong ale. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Me and my friends always drink one every monday because of its wonderful dark taste. The looks are also great and mysterious. Nice scent aswell! But be careful, it gets you hammered pretty quickly with its 11% ! ;) Never drink this stuff when you go out, you have no idea where you’ll end up, probably some gutter;) Recommended! hapjydeuce (772), Del Mar, California, USA

Fruity raisin aroma with plum, raspberry and dark Belgian malts, very nice! Flavor that is pleasing and sweet, lots of candy sugar and honey with fruitcake. A bit of a watery body, and the alcohol burn is just a bit too much for my taste. I could probably do with just half of a bottle, definitely enjoyable though.
