750ml bottle. Small head that goes away fast. Yeasty and kida sour (vinegar). Winy and sugary (caramelish) with some dark fruit. You can really feel the alcohol in that one (the warm felling). A good belgian strong beer.

From a bottle poured brown with a fair amount of head. Nice sweet flavor with a good finish. Very slight alcohol taste.

Very sweet, pot wine -like aroma of grapes and spices. Dark brown with very thin head. Taste is unbearably sweet and alcoholic, a combination that I personally detest.

Pours a deep, murky brown into the trappist glass with small sediment floating. A very malty, sweet scent with figs, raisins and spices. A syrupy sweet flavor that showed the alcohol as it warmed. Got super sweet, almost cloying in the finish. A decent strong ale.

Bottled as Kasteel Bier Bruin, corked 06-2006. Poured brown, with a tan head. Aroma is sour, grape. Flavor is sweet, malty, and alcohol, maple syrup, molasses, toffee, currant preserves, with raisin notes. Mouhtfeel is sticky and thick.

Pours a dark amber with little head and minimal lacing. Aroma of cherries and plums, with a bit of alcohol. Pleasantly sweet flavor, with lots of caramel and fruit. Thick body and a bit of an alcohol bite. Seriously good beer.

Great beer, here in my hometown (Hengelo, Netherlands) we have it on the beer faucet at the moment!:D (Monday half price great stuff or what!)! Me and my friends always drink one every monday because of its wonderful dark taste. The looks are also great and mysterious. Nice scent aswell! But be careful, it gets you hammered pretty quickly with its 11% ! ;) Never drink this stuff when you go out, you have no idea where you’ll end up, probably some gutter;) Recommended!

Small 11oz bottle, pours dark amber color and minimal carbonation and beige swirls. Fruity raisin aroma with plum, raspberry and dark Belgian malts, very nice! Flavor that is pleasing and sweet, lots of candy sugar and honey with fruitcake. A bit of a watery body, and the alcohol burn is just a bit too much for my taste. I could probably do with just half of a bottle, definitely enjoyable though.
