Pours a dark amber with little head and minimal lacing. Aroma of cherries and plums, with a bit of alcohol. Pleasantly sweet flavor, with lots of caramel and fruit. Thick body and a bit of an alcohol bite. Seriously good beer.

Great beer, here in my hometown (Hengelo, Netherlands) we have it on the beer faucet at the moment!:D (Monday half price great stuff or what!)! Me and my friends always drink one every monday because of its wonderful dark taste. The looks are also great and mysterious. Nice scent aswell! But be careful, it gets you hammered pretty quickly with its 11% ! ;) Never drink this stuff when you go out, you have no idea where you’ll end up, probably some gutter;) Recommended!

Small 11oz bottle, pours dark amber color and minimal carbonation and beige swirls. Fruity raisin aroma with plum, raspberry and dark Belgian malts, very nice! Flavor that is pleasing and sweet, lots of candy sugar and honey with fruitcake. A bit of a watery body, and the alcohol burn is just a bit too much for my taste. I could probably do with just half of a bottle, definitely enjoyable though.

750, corked and baled. Thanks, Doug! This was a dandy little surprise. Pours a beautiful dark brown with golden and caramel highlights. Headless, laceless...but leggy. Body’s got some real heft to it. Definitely has a bigt fruity nose...plummy? dates? Hard to pin down. Rich, thick, creamy body. Loads of fruit and caramel on the mid-palate. Seems to contain no alcohol on the tongue, which is amazing, but is a bit warming on the way down. Mild, sticky, lingering fruity finish.

warm fig paste and amber honey aroma. dark brown. Oaky tannic aroma. sweet into my jaw, drinks like a christmas spiced beer. Molasses with Belgian yeast. alcohol is hiding behind the well rounded flavors

Poured dark brown with light brown head. Sweet aroma of malts and yeast, caramel, raisins, and a slight smell of alcohol. Flavor was also candy sweet. Full syrupy body with a creamy smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation. The alcohol comes through slightly, more so as it warms. I really liked this brew and will definately have it again.

I tried this beer poured from the bottle into a trappist glass while in Brussels. It poured a syrupy dark color, with a slight ruby-red tint. It had a small, peripherary, off-white, bubbly head that had only slight retention and a small build. There was a dense fruit aroma featuring raisins, apricots, and a touch of orange or citrus hops; also a slight caramel malt scent. The taste was great, a blend of sour and light bitter characters with a dense sweetness and some raisin flavor too. It had a very soft, smooth mouthfeel, even somewhat velvety, with a mild carbonation and without any burn. A great beer, that was served on the warmer side, but still very drinkable and full of character.

Hazy dark amber with a fleeting head, nice lacing. Great aroma of plums figs, cherries and booze. Rich smooth mouthfeel. Taste is pit fruits, cotton candy, vanilla with a stinging alcohol tang to finish. A damn fine beer here. 61206
