Extremely sweet beer, with a heavy alcohol flavor. Overall it isn’t bad, but extremely sweet, as it warms it becomes more difficult to drink (at least for me). jfenglish (216), Chicago, Illinois, USA

First taste was overwhelming of sweetness and alcohol, gotta sip this thing to let the flavors come through. Very very sweet, wow. Did I mention the alcohol? Flavor and consistency was like a port. Some licorice. Heavy, boozy, sweet. Quite unique. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Served abit too cold, but took my time to warm it up, which changed the beer dramaticly. Fizzy carbonation and leads to a huge brown collapsing head. Aroma is sweet like brown sugar, full of dark fruit esters and a very intense vinouse nose. Flavor was lovely vinouse also, with a very wellbalanced warming alchohol, and a nice fruity mouth aroma. Nice. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA

Smelled sweet of candi sugar, dark fruit and caramel. Taste was much the same, sweet and rich, some biscuit and bready notes, no hop presence. Nice big beer here, little bit sweet, but good for one glass. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Dark brown, little head. First spike of the aroma was tomatoes, sweet zingy tomatoes. Plenty of brown maltiness too though. First taste on the palate is exceptionally sweet, sugary sweet, and upon swallowing the first vapours to fill the mouth and nose are those of alcohol. The malt is drowned by those two aspects. Fairly pleasant though, and not a harsh 11% beer at all. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

It smells of alcohol, malt, and a touch of yeast. The flavor is very sweet with dark fruit notes and mild alcohol that’s mostly found in the finish of this medium to full bodied brew.
Rerate from a bottle picked up in Amsterdam. 8/4/8/4/15. Averaged with prior rating.
