BeerBelcher (750), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2008 This beer was not the tastiest tripel I’ve ever had, but for 11%, it was quite gentle and smooth. I would highly recommend it.
This beer poured a clear golden color, quite a bit more amber than other tripels I’ve had recently, into a very shallow Kasteel-branded chalice. Aroma was clovey, with a significant alcohol presence. Flavor was devoid of any alcohol burn, and was more cloviness accompanied by significant medicine-y flavor. Mouthfeel was quite smooth.
This is a very goo tripel, and quite smooth given its ABV.
Had this on-tap at Roman’s Pub in St. Francis out of a cool Kasteel glass with the brewery at the bottom of the stem, atop the foot of the glass.

Straling (32), Amstenrade, Netherlands Oct 10, 2008 Bottle 33cl.
Pours a clear golden colour with a nice foamy head.
Aroma is that of oranges and some other fruits mixed in.
Taste is also oranges, but can also detect banana.
A good abbey tripel. GardenGabe (7), Colorado, USA does not count Oct 9, 2008 Sour yeasty slightly grassy noise. Lots of carbonation somewhat hazy and light in color. Dense lacing. Sour taste with a bitter finish. Heavy on alcohol. Delightful mouth feel with a medium body. DSG (867), Yuvalim, Israel Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden beer with a huge frothy white head that diminishes slowly. Fruity aroma with some yeast, light hoppy notes, citrus hints and spice (some pepper in there). Flavor is slightly sweetish at first with light bready notes, later gets drier with some yeast and fruits, and finishes with rather bitter spicy hops and some alcohol. Medium-bodied. Not too bad, just nothing exciting and a bit too alcoholic. MagooinPA (89), Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 Wow! Some powerful stuff. Very light straw color with tons of carbonation and a big white fluffy head poured into a Chimay goblet. Very spicy compared to many tripels with lots of sweet alcohol burn. definitely a sipper. Some tripels are almost like session beers in taste, not this one but still very nice. It is an over the top Chimay.
