TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Oct 18, 2009 Pours bright golden with a fully receding off-white head. Notes of thick sticky malt, cookie, herbal hops, light toffee and alcohol. Got a burst of rice crispies cereal and finishes with fluffy bread dough. medium/full bodied. thehurt01 (200), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 18, 2009 The beer poured a little cloudy with a nice white head. The smell is faint and of corn. A little sour and astringy. I might have gotten a bad bottle. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Jul 24, 2009 Hay, raisin, and dates on the nose. Shimmering amber, headless. Medium bodied and dry. Creamy malt. Little carbonation. Alcohol is evident but blends well. Parsley finish. It has some nice qualities, but is fairly mediocre. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 24, 2009 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light cornish and malty. Crisp bitter and sweet malt flavoured. Bitter and slight grassy finish with a persisting light malt presence. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jul 13, 2009 Pours a hazy golden-straw into the glass, with frothy white head that leaves thick sheet lace. The nose on this is of bananas, bread and silage grains. The flavors are upfront banana bread, mid-palate "mealy" yeast, and a touch of alcohol burn on the sides of the tongue. The finish is a yeasty banana aftermath, dried a bit with spices. A slick, chewy (but not necessarily "thick") mouthfeel, this heller bock is a decent offering, albeit a tad heavy and unilateral. Ungstrup (14723), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 10, 2009 Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of citrus, hay, malt, bread, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, alcohol, malt - almost chewy, and hay from the hops, leading to a bitter finish where the notes of alcohol and hay lingers. The alcohol tickles the palate.
