Commercial Description:
Ein starkes, helles, untergäriges Bier. Es ist weder süß noch wuchtig, sondern herb und frisch – wie das Allgäu im Frühjahr!

immediate aroma of cereal, fruit, and egg - I didn’t care for it; primarily a cloudy straw body having quickly acquired a frothy white ring to leave only minimal scattered lacing; nice and calm flavor - somewhat citrusy with vegetable notes; creamy yet somewhat fizzy palate that eventually feels oily; decent brew in the end.

Crisp very hazy golden orange coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white head. Aroma of corn, malt, wheat, apricots, yeast and a bit of sugar. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with a good apricot sweetness and a touch of coriander seed freshness touched with a little citrus - nice! Aftertaste shows some funky corn, a bit of malt and a good dose of sweetness. Overall, a decent beer - definitely nice in the summer! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from German Gourmet in Falls Church, Virginia on 09-May-2009, sampled on 02-June-2009.

Sampled in Palo Alto, CA at Madison and FIfth. A pretty good brew. Pretty light but goes down nice. Served in a shaker. A nice brew. Worth a try. Very bubbly.

Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: Hazed gold look. Thick creamy top.
Nose: Sweet malty feel , caramel with fruity malt , smooth nose. Good.
Flavor/Palate :Medium full bodied. Clean organic malt like character. Sweet bock with softer texture. Mild alcohol appeared with time.

I have to wonder how old my bottle was (drunk on March 7th, 2008), because this was still called the Maibock. Whatever its name, this is the third in a string of Aktienbrauerei beers that have been less than thrilling. Even a sturdy poor produces little head hear, and the body has a hazy Autumn glow, with slow, lazy bubbles casually climbing to the top of the glass. This might explain the wan aroma, with the tiniest fumes of apple and pineapple. Despite the attenuated smell, the flavor bursts with a sour off-tasting apple streak, which then fades until it disappears way off into the aftertaste. It is pungent, alcoholic and a bit chemical. with a persistence on the tongue that needs a desperate rinsing. No good.

0.33 l bottle. Golden color with small head. Malty aroma with some fruitiness. Malty and fairly hoppy flavor (for a bock) with herbal and peppery hops, medium bitterness, toffee and hints of alcohol. Slightly chewy mouthfeel.

from Holiday. Clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet wheat bread aroma, malty taste, and a smooth finish.

Wow. Nice. First impression. Malty first sip and the same from thereon. Quite nice, though a bit on the malty side for me.
