I think I drank every beer at the condo out of a big red wine glass, this one included. Poured out a clear chestnut beers with one finger of super light brown head that gave out some silty lacing early on. Pungent aromas of raisins, huge roast, sweet spices, dark caramel and almonds (when warmer). Strong and intense and never lets up. The flavour comes across quite thick with some alcohol, more huge malts (roasted and toasted), licorice, christmas hard candy and toffee. Full bodied, mild carbonation. Finishes with nice raisin and dark caramel flavours in the aftertaste and a bit of alcohol. Not bad at all. Ungstrup (15420), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma has notes of spices, perfume, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hard burnt caramel, pumpernickle bread, and alcohol, as well as some spicy notes, leading to a dry finish where the alcohol dries out the palate. drjay44 (820), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2009 500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin off white head, over a clear amber (SRM 20) body......nose heavy with molasses, dried fruit (raisin, plum).....taste is molasses, plum, minimal finishing hop bitterness......mouth feel is surprisingly light, carbonation low. This is with out a doubt a Dopplebock, but it is rather llight and uncomplicated. pivnizub (5096), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

Brown colour, beige head, good lace. Sweet, light bitter, loads of malts, butterscotch, toffee, more bitter in the finish. Full, lightly warming. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Bottle. Dark plum with a tan colored head. Somewhat abrasive and sharp flavor, the bock is certainly in character with this one. Fusel plum, date, sweet nuts, maple syrup, caramel, etc., it’s that sort of thing. Tight carbonation, bit of froth, plays nicely on the palate. Decent enough. csbosox (1084), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
