Bottle. Aroma of spicy yeast, red berry, light brown sugar, caramel, and lots of smooth malt. Slightly musty / cellary notes, as well. Dark ruby brown body with a beige head. Smooth malty body, dry with wonderful spicy yeasty accents, light chocolate, brown sugar, and restrained fruit with a medium/strong musty hop presence (somewhat unique for style - really adds a lot to the overall product). Earthy molasses and light bitterness and a hint of smoke. Minor drawback in the slight alcohol fume off-note that stings toward the finish, but only after some volume. Smooth and creamy medium body, and the velvety malt complexity is really what makes this. Straightforward, upper-crust Doppelbock. Satisfying!

Bottle. Small semi-fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, fizzy carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Nose was malty, milk chocolate, sweet, and brown sugar. Ditto for the flavor and some of the ABV is unleashed as this warmed up. Mouthfeel was quite smooth with a slight tingle to it. Light-medium in body. Ah, nothing like a good dopplebock! Quite tasty, easy to drink, nicely done, worthy of a try, and one I will certainly seek out again. More please!!

Little to no head. Very pleasing malt aroma with some caramel. A malty medium body and smooth mouthfeel. Pleasing palate. Nothing bitter, just a fine roasty malt chaser and one damn fine german beer.

from Holiday wine cellar. Brown with almost no head. Sweet malty aroma. Tastes of chocolate and caramel with a hint of molasses and fruit. A bit too sweet though.

Bottle at the Viking. Brown colored pour with large white head. Sweet, malty, caramely aroma. Flavor was fruity, smokey, just too sweet for me. But not bad.

Bottle. Rich dark malt aroma. Dark brown color with a decent beige/tan head. Medium body with very smooth carbonation. Flavor is dark malt with some balancing hop. Like maybe grassy hop. It has some spice aspects in a light way. Perhaps a bit woody. The finish is smooth, and lightly sweet. Pretty heavy, but tasty.
