Commercial Description:
The traditional style of beer of Allgäu from the good-old days: the Märzen. The Allgäu premium golden-light Landbier of 1516 is a direct tie to this old tradition. A Märzen beer with the unchangeable taste of the friendly rural brewing community. Brewed naturally according to the traditional Bavarian Reinheitsgebot from 1516.

previously tested on German BTO 02/2007: wenig Schaum. Malzig-getreidig, nur leicht herb. Wenig Kohlensäure, wirkt daher nicht so rezent. Etwas süßlich-alkoholisch, schwach ausgeprägter Nachgeschmack. Trotzdem süffig und gut.

(swing top bottle) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Discreet aroma: slightly sweet, minimal toast-malty, strawy nose with herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, medium body, soft carbonation. Malt-accented base, light toasty notes, tinge of honey, slightly bready taste; medium-dry malty sweet and slightly bitter finish. Average but drinkable.

Bügelverschlußflasche (Vielen Dank, Jonas !) Deep golden coloured, mid-sized, a bit lacing, white head; quite soloid malty, a bit toasted nose; moderate sweet flavour, soft MF; a bit citrousy, sweetish and malty finish, balanced by some bitterness in the aftertaste. Unspectacular brew, but decent..........

Bottle. Metallic hop aroma. Golden sedately carbonated, low off-white head. Dry strong hop flavor on cracker malt body. Lean, very dry body. Bitterhop lingers on long after, light metallic notes exhaling.

Bottle. Sweet grainy malt aroma (corn, barley). Amber color with small head. Sweet corn syrup malt flavor - not much hops - moderate carbonation. Medium body. Average - nothing great, nothing horrible.
