I bought this as my wife is beginning to enjoy Hefe’s so I snaged a few new samples for her. Nice head on first pour that faded quickly. Slightly sour on initial palate. Might be better with lemon. Crisp on the finish but doesnt last long. 5000 (2540), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2007 Bottle: Hazy straw, somewhat dirty, large white dishwater like head, crackles down to a thin film rather quickly, patchy lacing.   Wheaty nose, very soft banana and clove... very soft.   Clean wheaty flavor on first sip.   Banana and clove aren’t that apparent, but I do pick up a touch of citrus.   Bready and spritzy, with a moderate body.   Clean finish, not very big, certainly not heavy.   A light example of the style, somewhat crisp, but without a lot of the associated flavors of most German Wheats.   Lingering wheaty coating on the mouth.   Good thirst quencher at least.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Poured an effervescent golden with a small fizzy head that dissipated quickly... unusual behavior for a weizen. Somewhat light aroma of fruit... a bit of apple and pear. Taste is very light and almost pale-lagerish, with a few hints of apple and pear and maybe a touch of banana, with some light dry hop bitterness, leading to a completely clean finish that makes you wonder if you’ve drunk any beer at all. I’m thinking that people who called this sour probably got a bad batch, but the true flavor of this isn’t really much better... in fact, it’s almost non-existant. The flavor that is there is nice, but there’s just not enough of it. Body feels average and fizzy. I’d call this the dishieveled skeleton of a good hefeweizen. ogivlado (3088), Zagreb, Croatia

Pours a cloudy yellow colour with small white head and pleasant wheaty nose. Very fruity. Medium sweet wheaty and yeasty aroma with nice and fresh lemon, orange and banana notes. Watery wheaty finish. nick76 (2676), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 28, 2007 The aroma has some bananas (but not much), sour malt, coriander, yeast, and lemon. The appearance is hazy tan/gold with a two finger head. The flavor is rather average for the style. It has all the elements from the aroma but they are weak and the sour dominates. The beer turns herbal (with a hint of incense) in the finish. The palate is thin even for a wheat beer. Overall I was expecting more but it’s certainly drinkable. argo0 (6969), Washington DC, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 26, 2006 (50cl bottle) Clear straw body, large white head that dissipates almost completely. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon, faint bubblegum. Taste is medium sweet, cotton candy, some banana, light lemon. Watery light-medium body. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 6, 2006 This was a really weak example of this style, and I had higher hopes for this, but I was disappointed. Overly yeasty and spicy, with some overpowering flavors, and a bit too much of a perfumey aroma, and the rest of this is just left in a bland state of watered down flavors. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Dark cloudy yellow. Drinkable, but rather sour wheat. Cloves didn’t work for me. Didn’t like the carbonation. One of the least liked German made beers I have had in recent memory. Expecting more creamy taste, more fruit. Medium mouthfeel.Drying finish.
