It is gold with a bubbly, medium white head that steadily shrinks to a thin foamy ring and leaves only a hit of lace. The aroma is soft and sweet with grain, very flowery hops, and a little herb. The taste is full bodied grain, lots of green apple, and light but persistent hints of pine and herb, wityh a light bitterness that nevertheless persists through to a finish of grain and green apple with a hint of grass. It goes extremely well with food, which actually accents its flavours. SeamusNeko (45), Anacostia, Washington DC, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Apr 29, 2004 Equipment: .5L bottle served chilled in a tall pilsener glass.
Appearance: Crystal clear pale yellow. The carbonation on this sucker was incredible. The bubbles never stopped rising. I don’t even think I’ve seen soda do that from start to finish of the glass. There was a big ol’ fluffy white head at first. It then settled down to a small but thick layer of bubbles. Occasional flecks of foam were left on the glass.
Aroma: Snappy and bright pilsener malts with lightly bracing Saaz (?) hoppy aromas. My mouth watered.
Flavor: Mildly sweet pilsener malts followed by some herbal and grassy noble hops. Faint lemon and orange notes. Banana esters on the finish.
Palate: Light, effervescent, very crisp and clean. The beer that refreshes.
Overall: I could drink this stuff all day with no complaints. It’s subtle, gentle, and oh-so-tasty. If this is Hell.. what must heaven be like? *cue rim shot* Thank you, I’ll be here for 5 shows daily all this next week, you’ve been a lovely audience. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2005 I liked this beer. Pours sparkly cold, forms solid, foany head which reduces to sketchy lace. Aromas of earth, peat, spice and meadow are present. Great soury taste, very carbonated, with prevalent hops. Malt and yeast are understated. Leaves the mouth feeling refreshed. Good example of a hell -- sunshine in a bottle. Zoob (84), Bakersfield, California, USA

Perfect Balance for style. Lightly hopped but again balanced and very present. The Maltiness of this beer is fantastic, perhaps slightly sweet but it compliments the yeast and or conditioning. Great mouth feel, velvety with a strong carbonation. Light straw in color and dense bright white head. A fantastic beer that lets you keep on drinking.

Light in body, thirst quenching but with some guts and a terrific balance. On draft it is superb!! Zum Schneider in lower Manhattan(best German bar in N.Y.C) went through 35 bbls. in 45 days!Hard to find but don't miss it if Hell is your style! austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2005 From the bottle pours a light golden color, very clear with a tall white head. Very nice floral aroma with a bit of hop spiciness to it and a light background maltiness. This was a nice crisp and refreshing helles with a slight apricot fruitiness in the finish and a great hop play. One of the more hoppy helles i’ve had a very well made. shrubber85 (3014), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Bottle (now labelled as Aktien Hell). Sweet syrupy corn malt aroma. Light golden yellow with little head. Sweet sage flavor primarily - light malt with no hops flavor that I can detect. Medium body. One of the best Helles I have ever had but I really like sweet sage - you might try it and hate it - I guess that’s why we average.
