| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2005 This bottled brew from World of Beer in Saint Pertersburg on our way to vist our parents for Christmas poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting white colored bubbles good thick lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and yellow in color. Its aroma contained notes of malt hop lagerish . Its mouth feel is initially tingly crisp clean with a lingering tingly pilsnerish palate and a lagerish crisp clean aftertaste. Its flavor contained lager malty hoppy doughy notes. An above average brew. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 9, 2005 (500 ml bottle: $2.19 at Hi Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Very light in color and flavor for an Oktoberfest beer, this is pretty disappointing. The nose is acceptably aromatic, somewhat malty, but actually more grain/corn than malty. Mildly malty flavor, sweet, a bit caramely, with very little in the way of hops bitterness. Modest cardboard in the finish. Essentially, this tastes like a light version of an Oktoberfest. Light-to-medium in body, reasonably coating on the palate. With a tiny release of CO2 when popping the cap, a very small head, a totally still appearance, and a very gentle tingle on the palate, carbonation levels are insufficient. Medium straw in color with a crystal clear appearance, this could pass for Coors Light, except that Coors Light has carbonation bubbles rising through the beer, this doesn’t. What little head does form is white in color, but you better look fast because it’s completely dissipated in under 15 seconds. Maybe it’s better in Germany, but this import is a pretty poor example of a style I really enjoy, and as I said earlier, I’m really dissappointed with this beer. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 30, 2005 A bit fruity, but mine poured with little head at all, quite malty, almost no hops presence in my bottle, possibly an old bottle, I’ll try again next time fresh in Germany. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 31, 2005 Gold-brown color with nice but shortlived head. Aroma doesn’t reveal much with faint hints of dry hay, cardamon, ginger and cocoa. Flavorful, spicy with juicy hopiness, light malt, spice -- mostly ginger and clove -- and apple. Enjoyable -- nice effervecence and solid alcohol content make this a perfect companion to salty hard pretzels or a good ham and bean soup. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2005 Slightly coudy light gold body. Thin white head. The aroma is ginger, apples and honey. The taste is some bread along with pineapple and some hay and honey. A strange combination for the style. Unlike Frank, I do not think this is a boring beer. Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 1, 2004 Pours an ominously hazy golden with a nice white head and little lace. Nose is sweet and malty with notes of honey and fresh cut hay. Flavor follows suit with more sweetness coming out as it warms and just a touch of acidity in the finish. Well carbonated but still somehow sluggish on the palate. As drinkable as it is forgettable. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 20, 2004 Clear yellowy appearance, moderate head formation. Malty, corn aroma. Sweet malt, lightly syrupy palate. Lightly toasted with a fairly bitter finish offering some balance. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Oct 12, 2004 Bright golden yellow with a thick, tightly packed white head. Malty, sweet aroma. Not really to my liking. It reminds me more of a crap macro lager more than an o-fest. Corn has to be in there somewhere. The body is thin and watery with little to offer. The flavor has a little more depth than expected, but still not much. Slightly sweet with only a hint of moderate bitterness in the finish. Extremely disappointing. Perhaps I had a bad bottle, but it was my second and I don’t feel like rolling the dice again.
