Commercial Description:
A sensational brew! This is Oktoberfest at its best. Its golden color, its powerful malt and its trace of sweetness, makes this the prime example of a true Oktoberfest beer. Aktien's Okotberfest beer is different from other Oktoberfest beers already on the market in the USA and it is a must to be tasted by any beer lover.

500ml bottle
Clear golden honey colored body with a small white head. Fresh hay in the nose, some squash, some crisp biscuit and cracker malts, and a light honey sweetness as well. Flavor is pretty similar, with lots of fresh cut hay, some dried leaves, some squash, and some pils malt. Very fresh, very tasty, nothing too overdone. Very nice.

500 ml bottle poured a clear yellow with a minimal lingering white head. Aromas of straw, bread, light citrus and a faint hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread and light ctrus with a crisp lightly bitter malty finish. Are they sure this is an Oktoberfest?

500ml bottle - Wow, this is really light for a festbier, clear and barely yellow, with a tight boiling head. Bit of a starchy aroma. The flavor is rich and malty wtih a hint of Teutonic hoppiness. This drinks like a Dortmunder more than a fest. It’s good, but not at all what you’d expect for the style. (#2968, 6/9/2007)

The aroma is very much like the style. There is a lightly acidic, sour corn malt and some semblance of herbs. The appearance is yellow gold with a medium head. The flavor is like the aroma with a low bitterness but a high cardboard quality. The palate is perfect for the style. You know there are just not that many things to say about this beer. I am not crazy about it at all. Maybe it’s better fresh from Germany during Oktoberfest.

Cloudy yellow body, big foamy white head. Strong banana, clove and subtle malt aromas. Creamy body, sour finish. Not offensive but not noteworthy.

Pours straw yellow with a tiny patchy white head. Aroma is sour malt (grain, cereal), yeast (sweat, horse blanket) with a fruity hop fragrance. Medium bitterness, some light sweet yeast (dough) notes, malt and a sourness at the end. Light bodied and creamy, smooth palate.

Bottled. Pours a pale yellow color. Pretty pale for an Oktoberfest. Aroma is malty and grainy. Maybe slightly sweet. Sour and grainy. Somewhat acidic. Has a rubbling alcohol sort of aftertaste.

Bottled: Beer pours very light (especially for the style) golden color, slightly cloudy with lots of carbonation and a well retained egg white colored head. Aroma is restrained and sorely lacking in the caramel malt aroma essential for an Octoberfest beer. Aroma that is there is very light caramel malt and lemons. Flavor is a let down as well. Tastes like a pale lager with just a tiny drop of caramel malt flavor added per bottle. I am disappointed in this one. I wonder if I have a really ancient bottle. Who will ever know?
