Light golden yellow color, with a little cloudiness making it not completely transparent. Surprisingly crisp and bitter/spicy, with a doughy, mild finish. Very subtle malt and hop characteristics, a very unique German beer. bhensonb (4356), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Bottle as Spezialbier Edel. Aroma of pale malt and noble hop; hint of spice. Gold color with a respectable white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is malty with grassy hop and a citrus note. Bitter builds lightly in the finish. Very pleasant drink. Ever so much better than Bud. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Pours very lightly hazy gold with a one-finger white head. Lots of grain and a touch of spicy hops in the aroma. The flavor starts out nice and malty but quickly turns harshly grainy and metallic. Coppery finish with just a trace of hop flavor. Not horrible, but not worth seeking out. JensenTaster (1588), Denmark
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 21, 2008 (on bottle)Stated to be a "spezial" I conqour, This is an very bland, yet easy drinkable lage beer, with a tad of the bitterhops in it. Dark yellow, small white head. Full malty aroma, rather thin body, the alcohol strikes through pretty early in the taste, dosen´t leave much room for anything else. Finish is light, good thing when one´s making swill. Kinz (2214), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 23, 2007 Light to medium gold, decent head, a bit fizzy. Aroma of sweet light honey and a lot of hay and grass. Flavor is very grainy, and has a good bit of creamed corn vegetal notes along with the grassy finish. Not so hot. Potentially decent fresh on tap, but this didn’t seem to care for being bottled very much. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Bottle from State Line. Dull hazy medium gold pour with 1-finger whitish head. Aroma is honey, apricotty fruit, pale malt...decent aroma. Somewhat watery palate with pale malt and hopcitric flavors. For the most part, I see this one as indistinguishable from the Edel and Zanzelfest, and rather boring as such.
