Beautiful amber pin with airy, large-bubbled head that rapidly settles. One of the more aromatically intriguing German brews. Strong smells of malt and wheat and cereal. In fact, a strong "wheaties" component with some malt ball on the end. Flavor is rather insipid and ho-hum for a weizen bock. Easy going, but dilute malt flavor with some dabs of milk chocolate and raisin. Some wheat and little if any yeast or phenol component. An apple cider and wheat finish.

Pours a dark yellowish-brown/ brown copper color with a foamy off-white head. Musky aroma that is dominated by clove spiciness. Slight chocolate malt presence. Flavor is once again dominated by cloves. A little bit of licorice, chocolate malt. Very carbonated with a spicy roastiness up front followed by a sweet malty center and dry finish.

quickly dissipating head that leaves murky brown haziness with random flakes--it looks like runny excrement; dark wheat beer with cherry and apple fruitiness, some spice, and tartness; good, but too tangy; meh.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy golden with a dense off-white head leaving some laces. Clean and malty nose with a whiff of sweet fruit. Full-bodied with sweet and citrusy notes. Lightly tart finish. Somewhat disappointing - clearly there’s a lingering infection underneath. 180808

Bottle. Hazy amber coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of malts, hay and hops with notes of bananas, caramel and citrus. Sweet flavour of bananas, malts and spices with notes of yeast. Spicy finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange/light brown with a lacing white head. Mild caramel and only vague wheaty aroma. Flavour is sweet, dense caramel and vague fruity to slight wheaty base flavour following. Smooth caramelish and medium sweet finish.

500ml bottle purchased from stateline. Perfect hued orange/brown pour, slight sediment. Nose is sharp green raisen. Flavors are apple, wheat, fig, prune, and plum. Amazing complexity. Vivacious carbonation really brings these flavors to life. Only 2.69 for a bottle too - great deal. If this had some clove notes, like aventinus, it would be one of my top brews. 4.35
