Great beer, the pour was full of sediment in its dark orange hazy body. The aroma was of sweet raisin. The flavor was sweet and covered the alc with perfection. This is a very good weizen bock that really solidified my love for the style.

Bottle sampled. Pours deep amber pour with a small beige head. Aroma of banana, and spices. The flavor is a little chemical, banana, candy sugar, cloves, other spices present as well. Thin and a little watery.

Pours a brown color with a large active head and a few solids floating around. Aroma is wonderful and is unique. It is full of apricot. This is not your grandfather’s hefe and has higher alcohol and more robust flavors. Malt, fruit, wheat, astringency, and yeast are prominent. The beer is actually slightly tart. It offers that fruity complexity that is so common in Belgian beers. I was surprised to see it was German in origin. I love a good wheat beer and enjoyed this one.

Jan. 2007 - I wasn’t thrilled with this one. Head dissipated almost instantly. Tons of banana/phenol bubblegum sweetness. Thin. Also a noticeable brown sugar flavor. Just not my thing.

Bottle from Hi-Time. Interesting aromas of caramel and stone fruit. Banane? Maybe. Hazy amber color with a white head that stayed for awhile. Thin to medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, brownish malt with raisin type fruits. No banane. Then a bit of nuttiness pops up. The finish is tartly sweet with something like peach pits. It is really a pleasant drink. I’d say it’s well balanced - but I have no idea what it is that’s offsetting the sweetness. Works though.
