(on bottle)I admit, weizenbocks are not the style I´va rated the most, 10 with this one. An dthis brewery has not impressed me, the St. Blasius is a very nice beer. Small, beige head and a hazy, light amber color. The bananaaromas I dislike so much, really get´s to be a benefit in this brew, since it balances the caramel and malt aromas into a piruette of sweet, creamy and robust sents. The body is kind o´heavy, not a big carbonation, so it´s fairly smooth to drink. The finish gets more malty, gone are the tropicalflavour, in comes a more suttle prune note.

250ml Bottle - Gravity Room - Olympia, WA
Aroma – A strong wheat aroma with a light acid aroma coming off also.
Appearance – Amber in color, semi hazy with a light head.
Flavor – This was a wheat beer with lots of issues. Had lots of extra acid flavors and a issue with the finish almost band aid flavor. Something wrong here Shaggy.
Palate – Poor Mouthfeel, the texture was OK.
Overall – My first drain pour of 2008 and wow it was nasty. I think it was infected.

Muddy, light brown color with a large, but quickly fading head. Aroma is kind of an overly-citrafied Hefe/wheat mix. Taste is very raw, acidic (mostly orange), and excessively yeasty. Borders on undrinkable.

pour is a semi-cloudy orange-amber with a large white bubbly head that goes away quickly. smell is ripe banana, bread yeast, fresh bread right out of the oven. taste is more like a lager, grassy, green hops, small amount of wheat, a little acidic in the end.

Poured a deep chestnut-mahogany body with a fluffy but quick to dissipate white head. Nose of sweet caramel sugars, malts, fermented wheats and a sticky medicinal property. A bit too sweet. Not so pleasurable once the brew warmed up. Interesting, but not exceptionally so.

Really dull hazy caramel colour. No head. Looks like arse, and I gave it the honour my Aventinus glass. Some mango fruitiness. A bit of sketchy yeastiness and vague malts. Dull.

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy amber with a thick but fading white head. Aroma is initially dominated by yeast, with with some citrus, fruit and caramel behind it. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet taste of caramel, fruit, banana. Spicy finish.

Thanks to egajdzis for sharing this. Weizenbock is my favorite style... Appears a hazy, light orange toned brown with a small, off-white head that quickly fades out into a mild cap. Smell is of citrusy dough, caramel, vanilla, a touch of bananas, and mild spices. Taste if of the mentioned aromas but more tart with a light apple note that isn’t unheard of for the style. It’s not bad but it is a bit sweet. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp, fruity, with a smooth finish.
