Great beer, the pour was full of sediment in its dark orange hazy body. The aroma was of sweet raisin. The flavor was sweet and covered the alc with perfection. This is a very good weizen bock that really solidified my love for the style.

500ml bottle purchased from stateline. Perfect hued orange/brown pour, slight sediment. Nose is sharp green raisen. Flavors are apple, wheat, fig, prune, and plum. Amazing complexity. Vivacious carbonation really brings these flavors to life. Only 2.69 for a bottle too - great deal. If this had some clove notes, like aventinus, it would be one of my top brews. 4.35

Mildy hazy, dark teak color. Delicate flowers, alcohol, caramel flavor. A bit fizy but rich, with an easy palate. Low bitterness but still a nice finish suggesting the hops. I really liked this. Bottle.

Pours an orange to brown color, nice off-white initial head, decent retention for the whole drink. Lacing was minor. The aroma was light caramel, funky wheat. Flavor was much better than anticipated, wheaty for sure, phenolic spices (pepper also), good carbonation to stimulate the buds, light bubblegum and grass also present. The mouthfeel was light to moderate (especially for the style), but it was enjoyable, nothing cloying about this one, alcohol was smooth. A nice job even if it isn’t a stand-out. Don’t think I’ve had a decent weizenbock in a while.

From a 500 ml. euro bottle with a blurb on the back label, no bottling/freshness date I could find, my bottle also has the new label design. Poured a slightly hazy, golden, orangey amber with a frothy, foamy head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of cereal grains, berry, plum and lemon fruity esters that meshes with the alcohol, and clove spiciness. Good moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry, velvety smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel. A good weizenbock taste, caramelized sweet, sugary malts, an earthy clove peppery, plums, berries and banana fruitiness, the alcohol is also sweet and burns a little in the back of the throat, the hops are subtle and provide some bitterness towards the end, and a dry malty finish with a soft metallic flavor lingering in the palate. A nice weizenbock, not one of the great ones, but still, very drinkability, maybe even dangerously quaffable.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted grain), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of banana and clove. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. A solid, tasty entry, as with most of Aktien’s products, but not exactly exciting.

Amber color, thin, not nearly as dark as I was expecting. Thin quickly disappearing head. Really nice aroma, lots of sweet malt in the nose with a noticeable wheat presence, yeasty and delicious. Flavor is sweet nutty malts giving way to a wheatier middle and a lightly bitter finish. Thin and not overly complex, but tasty.
