Commercial Description:
This dark wheat beer is bottle conditioned. Made from a combination of 50% wheat and 50 % barley malt, it has a hearty body yet is effervescent and palatable. Wheat beer officianados must discover for themselves this different and exciting brew. Very dry aftertaste.

(50cl bottle) Cloudy copper body with quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, raisin, toffee/caramel, light banana, peanut butter. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, raisin, bread, light banana. Low carbonation, light-medium body.

From a 500 ml. euro bottle with a bottling date on the back label, 02.06. My bottle also has the new label design. Poured a cloudy yellowish golden hued brown with a nice foamy head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of cereal grains, sweet caramel malts, apple and lemon fruity esters, and a subtle spiciness. Light, fizzy carbonation and a crisp, dry, smooth thin medium-light bodied mouthfeel. Pleasant, but also a bit bland tasting, sweet malty, cereal with a light caramel, a touch wheat bready, lemony, some earthy spiciness, and a dry malty finish with some metallic edges. For me, everything from this German brewery seems to be hit, or like this one, a miss, not bad, drinkable, but not a dunkle weisse I would demand.

I knew this was going to be a old bottle and the beer would be in bad condition but i cant resist a dunkel. Aroma smells like apple sauce. The flavor has fallen apart and gone flat but still maintains a caramel malt background. Semi dark brown color with no formation of foam.

Courtesy of my Secret Santa. Thanks! Pours a cloudy cinnamon with a huge white head. Aroma is apples, bananas, light citrus. Taste is very sweet, strong citrus woth light hops and malt, even a little funky and sour at times. Flavors blend well enough for it to be drinkable, and not offensive, but this beer lacks definition.

Poured a murky amber brown color, somewhat light for the style, decent initial head, nothing fancy, somewhat weak lacing. The aroma was caramel and bananas, weak phenolic/clover aspects. The flavor was caramel, barely any roastedness, very light bananas, more citrus than banana. Spicy aspects about nil. The flavor was watered down, disappointing. Mouthfeel, thin as well. Not a stellar dunkelweizen.

Murky light brown pour with some amber edges. Aroma is toasted bread crumbs, and a bit of light fruitiness. Flavor is suprisingly sweet, caramel and some herbal grassy hoppiness. Very light spiciness, and very uncharateristic for the Dunkels that I have tried.

Bottle: Dark dirty caramel, large sudsy off-white head, falls quickly, sparce lacing.   Seems uncharacteristic of a Weizen.   Sweet sugary nose, moreso a Belgian like Bockbier than a Dunkelweizen.   Watery sugar flavor at first, barely any wheaty aspect.   Thin for a Weizen.   Noticeable darker malts, slightly toasted, but the banana and clove are not to be seen.   Slightly dry finish, with a slight tart like sweetness.   Boring...

Bottled. Murky light brown pour. Phenolic and bready aroma. Medicinal wheat flavor.
