Clear garnet appearance with a medium sized cream colored head and good lacing. Subtle, caramel malt aroma with some nuttiness just beneath the surface. Hazelnuts, toffee and toasty malts accent the gently hopped taste. Smooth, mild, moderately carbonated mouthfeel leading to a medium length finish. A nice session beer. On tap at the tavern.

Now brewed by Otto’s for Kclinger’s in Hanover. Tawny brown colored body, moderately hazy, with a medium to small sized tan head. Sweet bready toffee malt nose, with a mildly starchy bread and cracker flavor, with mild use of hops. Some toasted maple and bread in the finish, and it dries a little bit as well. A good brown ale overall.

Growler pour. Pours brown with red hues and khaki head. Nose is caramel and chocolate. Sweet taste, chocolate and caramel with mild roast, some mild fruit, raisin and apple. Nice mouth feel, slightly watery but full. Good lacing. Nicely done brown ale. Just a little hop presence, giving it a nice, crisp finish.

Courtesy of Juart from growler. Pours a dark brown color with a slight reddish hue. Has a slight beige foamy head, but not really that much. The growler was a little old though. The aroma is a sweet butterscotch with a slight cream and grainyness. The flavor has a dark toffee with some roasted coffee notes, a little bit of black cherry, and a nice bitterness to balance out the heavy malt sweetness. A bittersweet chocolate flavor that lingers on the tongue. A good oily texture with a very light carbonation.

Clear brown body with a small tan head, fading. The nose is light with clean yeast, herbs and caramel. The flavor is dry with light toffee, dough and flowers. Medium/light body is soft with light carbonation.

Had this at the HBF. Pours brown, with malt, slight caramel aroma. Tastes malty, with some nuts, toffee, and cognac at the finish.
