Commercial Description:
Once a province in New Zealand, New Munster is a well balanced, all malt English ale with great depth of citrus, and fruity hop characteristics, reminiscent of our heritage, the location of the brewery, and the style of the beer enjoyed by many in the 1840’s. Batch brewed craft beer with all natural ingredients. Great with spicy or oily meat dishes.

Lighter coloured Pale Ale. From bottle (note there were some incredibly low fills in the 6-pack). Nice head, lightish colour, nice flavour. Distinctive hop flavour at the finish - a bit resiny. A good beer, shame the brewery has disappeared.

Tasted several times, eulogy composed 17/07/2008. I’m guessing this bottle is about a year old now but it still has a fantastic amount of hop flavour and aroma. Unfortunately it is now an amazing showcase of acetyldehyde too. I’m not going to mark it down for that because it was an absolutely great beer fresh, one that reminded me of an old favourite from the same part of the country, and had a lovely malt backbone to carry all that white peach hop flavour. Hawkes Bay has suffered two great losses in the last few years - Limburg and K.E.A. For a part of the country that prides itself on excellent wine, its brewing is pretty sad. Get a grip you cabernet wankers - support great beer when it (hop)smacks you in the face!

Pours a clear golden with a white large head diminishing head. Light sweetness. Lighter bitterness. Caramel aromas. Light hoppy aromas. Bit of infection (Also overcarbonated IMHO). Hint of wood. Medium bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Livelye carbonation. Bitter finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear golden with a rough, off-white head leaving some laces. Fresh aroma of peaches and fruit bubblegum. Medium body with lightly sweet malts, very fruity accents and a very distinctly bitter finish. Neat. 200208

Light with a slight haze. White head with normal size. Fruity in both aroma and taste. Nice bitter aftertaste.

330ml bottle - Just a faint haze to the brilliant golden colour topped with a good puffy head. Bold big flowery aroma, smells like fresh hop pellets (some green bullet perhaps?) Nice bold palate, marmalade-like, good weight, big hop crisp finish. The sort of beer that challenges and I really enjoy. Ideally 2 or 3 over dinner but too big and chewy to pass the 6-pint test. I like...

Bottle, a slight haze to the gold colour with a large pillowy white head. A good flowery hop aroma. A hoppy palate with a clean dry finish. Not bad.

Red/orange in colour with thin white head. Apple shampoo aroma. Gree granny smith flavour, bold tany mouth feel.
