sheatripper (826), Brooklyn, New York, USA Apr 14, 2008 Draught at Bar Great Harry. Fairly clear amber color with a frothy off-white head leaving webby lacing. Fruity and floral aromas of banana, pear and light honey with mild spice notes. Sweet bubblegummy flavor mostly. White pepper spiciness cuts through somewhat on the finish. Fine carbonation. OK, but no real magic or fireworks here. beastiefan2k (1120), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Apr 13, 2008 Color is hazy golden with a sticky head and visible carbonation. Aroma is sweet-sweet Belgian candi with herbal yeastiness. Pretty strong, sweet aroma. Taste is similar but just not as strong. I like it though, rather authentic but a bit too sweet (as seems to be the norm with most American triples). Maredsous glass @ Great Bar Henry. puzzl (1823), New York, New York, USA Mar 20, 2008 Tap at Hop Devil, rating 1400. Pale pour, quite filtered, with a dry, cloudy, light aroma. Lots of yeast, a little bit of marshmallow. Flavor is a bit odd, lots of yeast but has some abrasive gasoline stuff going on. A touch of fruit, nectarine, wheat husks, corn. Complex flavor, just really not that good. Ramenen (351), San Salvador, El Salvador Mar 15, 2008 Drank it with Juancho at the Hop Devil in NYC. Quite nice, I really enjoyed. Very spicey with raisins and cloves. Juancho (204), New York, New York, USA Mar 14, 2008 On tap at Hop Devil in NYC
Yellowish/light brown combo. Subdued aroma, think head, a little spice, a little clove, thin mouthfeel.
The barman raved about it, but I was not in love with it.
