I was a little surprised to see this on tap, as I generally associate wheat beers with summer, and in the middle of winter after 2 days of snow, and with the temperature at a crisp 18F, it was a bit unexpected. I did not inquire about the reasoning for this being on tap in such weather, but I ordered a pint regardless. I was not disappointed. Much like throwing on some calypso music, closing your eyes and envisioning the beach, this light crisp summer brew was like a mini vacation from the weather outside, evoking fond summer memories and thoughts of outdoor activities that did not involve shoveling. If their intent was such, it was a big success. The beer itself was quite nice as well, pouring a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head, leaving a bit of lacing. Aromas full of yeast, wheat, and almost a hint of spiciness, perhaps cinnamon, greet the nose. The body belies appearances and is a bit on the thin side, with a large amount of smooth bubbles in the mouth. Finish is light as well, with a hint of banana. I shall be hoping they make this one up again for the summer where I can properly enjoy it out on the patio and possibly abuse it with the addition of a slice of lemon.
