Draft at brewpub. Body is evenly medium. Hints of brown sugar at edges and a fantastic display of reserve withe the coffee in the after taste and finish. Thick dense tan head sits upon the dark creamy lusciousness. For 8.5% it sure is easy to consume... Soon to be in its first bottling. Wo0o Hoo to Tommy Keegan!

Draft. Dark pour with an off white head. Aroma is pretty nice. Sweet creamy coffee, a dark bitter roasted coffee, molasses and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet and creamy, nice body and great coffee flavors. Not at all bitter and has a nice smooth finish. Love the alcohol content of this compared to the earlier version. The roast levels and the amount of coffee seem to be amped up as well.

Tap at The Lark. As I approached the bar at The Lark last night, a friend welcomed me and suggested that I try something new on tap. The dark brown ale looked to be very dense and the slight aroma of roasted malts came forward. It was probably too cold at the time to illicit anything more than the malts for my nose to enjoy, but I went ahead with the first taste to see what it was like. I found the delicious milk stout to be similar to one of my favorites from Colorado and when it warmed up a little, the subtle chocolates and chalky cocoa elements surfaced. As the slight lacing descended in the glass, I knew my friend’s suggestion had been perfect starter for my beer group’s meeting that evening and to share with other friends who would soon darken the door.

Draft at David Copperfields next to the bourbon barrel cask version, which i enjoyed more. Pours a black body with a tan head. Malty roast y with a dull dry stale coffee body. Coco with an earthy sweetness. Vanilla more malt and a slightly astringent roast. Nice.

Bottle, thanks to markwise for sharing! Poured a dark brown color with a firm brown head. Huge coffee nose with mabye a hint of cocoa powder. Medium, creamy body with a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is more roasted coffee flavors balanced with malt and very light chocolate notes. Very rich and smooth, very nice. Finishes with roasted coffee.

Deep brown black pour with thick sticky dark brown head. The nose is loded with rich coffeish aroma. The base malt has a lot of cocoa and dark crystal as well, but the coffee is definitely the standout. Well integrate with an intense, but never vegetal coffee flavour. Lots of richness and sweetness that helps with the intense coffeeish bitterness on the back. Lovely, rich coffee stout.

Growler shared by JoeMcPhee: Thanks. Deep brown pour with a dense khaki film of head. Fresh coffee roast in the aroma- dark roasted crystal malts, light nutty husk notes and a touch of chocolate character. Nice and velvety feel. The flavor has a cohesive blend of coffee roast, dark crystal roasted malts, and mild dry cocoa. Definitely coffee filled, but there’s a malt back to balance. A nice balanced coffee stout.

Growler from Whole Foods. Aroma is coffee, malts. The appearance is dark brown, modest tan head. The flavor is coffee, brown sugar, roastiness (though not as much as you’d expect). The finish is roasted coffee, slight booze. Medium mouthfeel, thin for this style. Decent, respectable.
