unclemattie (1662), Georgia, USA Jul 22, 2007 12oz bottle. Very dark black. dark tan head. very nice lacing. aroma is very sweet. bittersweet chocolate., malt. even some licorice. Texture is slightly creamy. Heavy bodied. flavor is of bitter hops, bitter coffee beans. hint of alcohol. The carbonation is just right. This is a deep beer and is still very balanced. Lots of malt, sharp bitter finish. No sour milk anywhere! Awesome beer. And I do love a heavy bodied, bitter finishing stout. I_commonsewer (119), TUCSON, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2007 a very pleasant surprise! no one here in the western US has ever heard of this stuff, but I found it at a local beer distributor in Westchester, NY and my wife and I agree that Mothers Milk is one of the best milk stouts brewed in America! mribm (416), Hurley, New York, USA Dec 17, 2003 64 oz. Growler. Pours with a nice sized, creamy, tan head which dissipates quickly. This stout had a delicious roasted chocolate nose and it tasted like a smooth chocolate soda. This was really smooth, delicious and satisfying. I'm sorry I waited so long to try this beer. chronictonic (362), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Pours a thick black with small tan head. Aromas of delicious roasted malts. BIG dry roasty flavor. Nicely balanced with some lactose - but not too much. No sourness. Clean crisp dry finish leaves you wanting more. This is a really, really good milk stout. crazyvin (1093), New York, USA Jul 28, 2007 Poured a very dark black hue, tan head great lacing. Aroma was a mix of chocolate ,oatmeal, and a subtle hop presence. Flavor was very malty, a nice sweet chocolate taste at first, but it was mixed with a slight coffee presence. Very thick, and rich.a smooth presence like half&half.
