Bottle (50 cl), thanks rickgordon. Cloudy dark reddish brown with a tiny head. Very odd malt aroma, hard to pinpoint, some roasted notes, some green peppers, and earthy hops. Thin with almost no CO2. Dry and bitter finish.

I’m convinced that something went wrong with the bottle I have in front of me. It’s an almost black beer with a small head. The aroma is very chemical and has notes of roasted malt, and both is found in the flavour too. I do get the feeling that it might have been a nice beer with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark fruit, so I hope I get the chance to re-rate it again some day.

Thanks to Derek the Brewer who brought me a bottle to Blackfriers. Aromais dominated by roasted malts, coffee and eventually fruityness starts to come though. Taste is imilar a bit of spice starts to come through at times also, minimal hop character which is unsual for kelburn beers but peppery notes are there.
