| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 18, 2007 I’m convinced that something went wrong with the bottle I have in front of me. It’s an almost black beer with a small head. The aroma is very chemical and has notes of roasted malt, and both is found in the flavour too. I do get the feeling that it might have been a nice beer with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark fruit, so I hope I get the chance to re-rate it again some day. Aromais dominated by roasted malts, coffee and eventually fruityness starts to come though. Taste is imilar a bit of spice starts to come through at times also, minimal hop character which is unsual for kelburn beers but peppery notes are there.
