...draft at "brewpub". Better than the wheat, but still a very poor attempt. decent color, but no head, or flavor. Slight hop notes on the nose, a tiny hint of citrus, and a slightly malty finish with a weird aftertaste. The people in Key West must not care what thier beer tastes like, or this is just a drunken tourist trap.

(Draft @ Kelly’s, Key West, FL): Pours a reddish brownish color. Smallish whitish head, lasting. Not very goldeny. Malty, hoppy aroma. Hoppy grapefruity taste, malty. Some nutiness. Somewhat bitter finish. A little unbalanced.

Draft at brewpub. Poured a hazy brown color with a moderate fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium malty and hop aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Better drinkable brew.

Draught at Kellys Caribbean Bar & Grill & Brewery, Key West. Deep golden color, offwhite head. Hoppy, fruity, grassy aroma. Hoppy, soapy flavor, grassy. Not a great beer, but stil lrefreshing on a hot day in Key West.

STANKY ASS ALE THAT PUCKS YOU WITH A NICE GRAPEFRUIT PROFILE THAT QUICKLY DISSAPEARS AND LEAVES A LIGHTLY STRAW AND STANKY MALT W/CARAMEL TASTE THAT GIVES YOU THE BUZZ AND WOULD MAKE ANY HOP OR ALEHEAD HARDPRESSED TO WALK AWAY. THE PLAY GOING ON HERE IS DIFFERENT BUT AT THE SAME TIME A GOOD BREWDEMON’S GROG. NICE JOB HERE! SMOKEY CARAMEL.

On tap-listed as IPA. Dark gold with a small white head. Fresh citrus, hoppy aroma. Pretty bitter, with lots of grapefruit and floral hop flavors and the expected bitter finish. No real malt taste, almost an exact opposite of their Havana Red.

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. Beer listed as an IPA with 6.5% ABV. Nice deep golden pour with tiny ring of foam but really almost no head. It has a pretty big tangelo to sweet grapefruit aroma. The taste doesn’t really deliver what the aroma was promising. Seems a bit watery and neutral in the beginning for an IPA. There’s a little grapefruit and pine hops which grow toward the finish. About midway I get a roasted malt note. I guess the stronger hop finish the beer has sort of makes up for the watery start.

FBG 07. Nice hop aroma, sweet grapefruit. Pours golden amber with no head. Dry but balanced IPA. Flavorful.
