Pours a great, dark ruby-red with a fine fluffy and slightly creamy, light-beige head. Good duration. Rather spicy aroma with pepper, coriander, nutmeg on top of liquorice and lots of dried fruits. Medium carbonation, nice mouthfeel. Flavour is just like I like a dubbel! Lightly vinious, lots of raisins and plums backing up a strong presence of dark, dry chocolate. Very nice! note666 (192), Eindhoven, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 330 ml bottle. amber brown colour. off white head. complex taste ; fruit, caramel, alcohol. Coppery brown with a big tan creamy head. Fruity and sweet caramel aroma, some raisins and nuts. Sweet caramel well-balanced by nutty flavours. A very well-made beer, nicely rounded and balanced. diabel (1196), Aarschot, Belgium Jun 23, 2008 Bottle Clear, deep amber to brown body. Rocky/frothy head. Nice lace. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel with some spices. Not very intense, but ok. Lightly bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Lacks a bit complexity. Quite warm mouthfeel, with an ok balance. Anyway, quite appealing. There is no sharp edge and it is not cloyingly sweet. So, it is far from bad, but not extraordinary.
