madsberg (4374), Bangalore, India Mar 7, 2006 Draught: Reddish brown coloured. Unclear. Light brown dense head. Sweet and fruity aroma with notes of sugar and caramel. Flavour as well is sugary and caramelly. Distinct plums and some light roasty notes. Is a bit watery. Alcohol is detectable and gives a light burnt on the lips.
NoiZe (947), Zeist, Netherlands Sep 14, 2008 Brown colored brew. Aroma is apples, sour. Flavor starts with chocolate, liquorice and sourness, but blends together after a while. Nice, balanced bittersweetness. thewolf (3983), Kolding, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, bierkoning]
Pours a great, dark ruby-red with a fine fluffy and slightly creamy, light-beige head. Good duration. Rather spicy aroma with pepper, coriander, nutmeg on top of liquorice and lots of dried fruits. Medium carbonation, nice mouthfeel. Flavour is just like I like a dubbel! Lightly vinious, lots of raisins and plums backing up a strong presence of dark, dry chocolate. Very nice! note666 (223), Eindhoven, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 330 ml bottle. amber brown colour. off white head. complex taste ; fruit, caramel, alcohol.
