Draught: Reddish brown coloured. Unclear. Light brown dense head. Sweet and fruity aroma with notes of sugar and caramel. Flavour as well is sugary and caramelly. Distinct plums and some light roasty notes. Is a bit watery. Alcohol is detectable and gives a light burnt on the lips.

Sep 14, 2008 Brown colored brew. Aroma is apples, sour. Flavor starts with chocolate, liquorice and sourness, but blends together after a while. Nice, balanced bittersweetness.

Pours a great, dark ruby-red with a fine fluffy and slightly creamy, light-beige head. Good duration. Rather spicy aroma with pepper, coriander, nutmeg on top of liquorice and lots of dried fruits. Medium carbonation, nice mouthfeel. Flavour is just like I like a dubbel! Lightly vinious, lots of raisins and plums backing up a strong presence of dark, dry chocolate. Very nice!

Jul 1, 2008 Bottle at Ons te Huis, Diest. Coppery brown with a big tan creamy head. Fruity and sweet caramel aroma, some raisins and nuts. Sweet caramel well-balanced by nutty flavours. A very well-made beer, nicely rounded and balanced.
