Strong coffee aroma. great taste, little head, for 8.5 percent this beer is very smooth. mcferc4 (56), New Jersey, USA Nov 20, 2009 12 oz’er from a trade with my buddy Rybeast on the Left Coast. Very, very excited about this. Lovely pour, ample light-brown head. Aroma is heavy roast, fresh, dark coffee... so strong, hits you when you’ well before you reach the glass. One word -- SILK. Holy shit, this is smooth. Coffee flavor dominates, bursts when held in the mouth.Touches of roasted coconut. My lord this is delicious. Extremely impressed with the mouthfeel, so smooth. Just enough bitterness to . Sweet, with just enough bitterness to balance it out. Thanks so much Ryan. Thrilled to try this. wetherel (1586), Encinitas, California, USA Nov 20, 2009 $7.99 bottle from Pp bottle shop. Probably one of the few bottles left in San Diego. Large head of large brown bubbles. I can smell the toasty chocolate immediately, and I say to myself, please don’t be dry and acidic. Not too bad. Certainly some acidity, but also some body. Lots of flavor, but not my thing. zach8270 (2075), Henrietta, New York, USA Nov 18, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is rich coffee and dark roasted malts with a very light hint of nuts. Maybe macadamia but definitely not coconut. Flavor begin with a very nice roasted coffee flavor. Lots of roasted malts dominate the middle, mixing with a mild touch of chocolate. The nut flavor comes through at the end. Not a lot of coconut but definitely a nutty flavor. Some sweetness and alcohol warmth come through at the end. Really tasty. TampaBrew (804), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 18, 2009 Poured dark brown. Nose was mild fresh coffee bean, roasted grain, yeast. Flavor was coffee, vanilla, roasted malts, earth hops. Got no macadamia anything from this beer. Rciesla (3560), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Nov 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Roasted coffee, chocolate with a light nutty tone. Coffee and coconuts, with the latter more hidden. A nice collaboration. joeneugs (306), Livermore, California, USA Nov 15, 2009 Pours dark brown with a brown head. It has an aroma of hard roasted malt with notes of chocolate, nuts, coffee, and coconut. The flavor is very nice with chocolate and light notes of coconut and coffee. Velvety mouthfeel and perfectly balanced. A real nice, and memorable porter. robforbes (1085), Bremerton, Washington, USA Nov 14, 2009 pours a black with a small brown head, and a little lacing.
