Bottle. Pours a dark thick brown with a thin tan head and aromas that are a little less than expected. A bit of earthiness, some coconut (scorched?) and nuts is about all there is and nothing really asserts itself. Flavor has a pretty good bitter chocolate and coffee backbone, some nut presence and a little peat or something bordering on smokey. Mouthfeel is pretty thin... but still oddly full. It’s kind of like watery soy sauce consistency, but the finish has a bit of an earthy bitterness to it so it seems more full. I’m not sure if it is really a bit of a funky sour edge or not, but every now and again it seems like I’m picking that up in the finish.

Bottle: Deep brown pour with a khaki well retained head. Toasted malt aroma- mild coffee roast with some chocolaty qualities and a toasted coconut hint. Unique. Slick and creamy body. Toasted yet rich and dry. Toasted coconut notes mesh with mild coffee roast- soft and balanced. The macadamia nut is subtle- blind I wouldn’t detect macadamia, but I would say it’s nutty. Interesting stuff.

Bottled. Too much cold roast coffee, some vanilla. Fizzy body, way too much carb, with dull coffee throughout. I’m not sure what the macadamia nut is doing here -- it seems it is doing absolutely nothing -- they should have just left the little gimmick out.

Bottle from Blacklick Wine & Spirits. Black pour with a medium tan head. Nose of coffee, cream and nuts. Flavor is coffee smoothing out to nuts and creamy cocounut before a semi-dry finish.

12oz. Bottle from VBM in Buffalo. I was told this was one of a limited amount of bottles released in Buffalo, so I had to grab at least one. Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head and some light lacing. Aroma is full of coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate and slight alcohol notes. Flavor is strong coffee, cocoa,, bitter, burnt malts, and roasted coconut. Super smooth, sweet finish. Medium bodied, easy drinking, really good beer.

Opaque black with a small dark tan head. Coffee, semisweet chocolate aromatics, some nuttiness. Heavy coffee flavor components, with toasty, earthen malt. Tinges of sweetness and nuttiness. Roasty finish with vestiges of caramel and coffee. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat drying.

12oz bottle. Good coconut and coffee aroma that is good on the nose. Black body with tan head leaves some foamy lace on glass. Flavor had more coconut to it which was fine with me. Some nut and coffee too. Good bleand here good on the palate.

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted nuts, coffee, bitter roasted malt, and a touch of coconut too. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, residual sugars and lactose initially with a bitter roasted malt finish. Pretty tasty and quite drinkable. This one lived up to my expectations. 8/4/8/4/15 [3.9/5]
