Nose is chocolate and coffee with slight hints of coconut. Medium body with good carbonation and a creamy mouth feel. Nice amount of roasted malt, milk chocolate, and dark coffee. I really appreciate the hop profiles in this one they push through the roasted flavors and help to balance it out. I did get some toasted coconut notes which were very slight but nice, I did not get any macadamia although I imagine it’s a difficult flavor to impart. Finishes with mild bitterness and chocolate sweetness.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Poured opaque black with a good sized cream tan head that diminished rather quickly. The aroma starts with bold coffee with lesser notes of chocolate and nuts. Had hints of coconut shell more than the actual flesh or milk. Big roasted flavor with coffee and nut middle. Dark chocolate finish. Light hops on the finish. Light ash. Medium + body. Some warmth in the throat. Milk chocolate really started coming out as it warmed. But so did the ash. wavers1 (132), novato, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 nice brown pour with a medium sized medium brown head that fades fairly quickly and leaves some spotting and lacing. aroma is not bold, nor is it subtle. the notes of all three coconut, coffee and macadamia all present themselves nicely and in equilibrium. the roast and toast of all three meld together to make a very nice, very easy flavor and aroma. the taste is nice, the coffee is in the lead here, followed closely by coconut, with macadamia off in the back. super roasty, nice and smooth, easy drinker. this would be a great session beer for the island of the bay alike, i wish it were a lil easier to get. this is my fave stone collabo thus far, great stuff! blipp (1664), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle. Deep brown with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma with loads of coffee and a solid nutty sweetness. The flavor has coffee up front, and a lighter nutty sweetness. Lightly bitter roasted finish. Very good. ucusty (1885), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Black color with a nice thick caramel colored head. Aromas include coffee, a little coconut, and a slight roasty scent. This one is medium, almost full bodied. Flavor is full of coffee, with hints of coconut, chocolate, and and some nuts. Leaves a nice coffee flavor in the aftertaste. This brew is similar to Founders Breakfast Stout. Another good one from Stone. keidjxz (65), Irvine, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head and some lacing. Sweet and nutty with an intense but not at all overpowering coffee aroma. Tastes slightly sour and just a bit bitter with an almost buttery texture of macadamias. bluejacket74 (18), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 25, 2009 12 ounce bottle. Served in a Sam Adams BL glass, the beer pours dark brown with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. Aroma is very nice, it smells like coffee, coconut, roasted malt, chocolate and some nuts. The taste is the same as the aroma, with a great mix between the sweet and bitter flavors (although I do think the bitter flavors are stronger than the sweet ones). There’s also a slight lingering bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s thicker than most porters, not that I’m complaining! It’s rich and coating, and has above average carbonation. Drinkability is pretty good, but it would be hard to drink more than a couple bottles of this at a time. The alcohol isn’t noticable in the taste, although it does hit you after a while. I think this is a good overall brew, if you get a chance you should definitely try this one. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle, pours black with thick tan head. Aroma, amazing deep and complex its the overwhelming coffee but beyond that there’s a deep roastiness. Like an old pot of coffee that is almost burnt and really strong - musty and a slight sweetness. Taste - where to begin the coffee sure but there’s so much more tongue tingles, with hop bitterness and a deep roasted flavor. I love it.
