19-Jan-08 (Draft: Connoisseur’s Session, 2008 Great Alaskan Beer and Barley Wine Festival in Anchorage, AK) Pale malt flavor is grainy and clean, a little sweet, but it works well as a base for this IPA series. The 75-IBU Centennial hops in this beer are floral and lightly piney. Great balance here. Sweet, honey-like graininess, very floral, but nice. Doesn’t smell all that "hoppy" though. Medium in body with a clean, crisp, lightly bitter finish. Medium carbonation. Dark straw in color and slightly hazy. Half an inch of off-white head settles to a thin, complete layer while leaving pretty ringed lace on the glass. Nicely balanced and easy to drink.
