Commercial Description: A true marriage between German and American styles. Light and refreshingly made with 45% wheat malt, then cleanly fermented to yield a crisp, almost pilsner-like beer that is refreshing, somewhat fruity, and ideal for a Summer's afternoon.
On tap @ the brewery. Clear and golden with a fluffy white head. Wheat and straw aroma with spicy yeast and fruity hints. Sweet flavor with a light sourness and even lighter bitterness. Medium body with a crisp refreshing mouth feel. This is a very nice Hefe that takes the best of the German and American styles and comes up with a smooth easy drinking beer.
Sampled at the ’08 GABBF. Clear pale gold color with a loose white head and a yeasty nose. I couldn’t really tell if this was supposed to be a German style or not. It is an easy drinking beer. Some citrus notes and noticable yeast flavors and a faint banana, but it didn’t have the spices I expect in a German wheat. It seems they intended to blur the style.
