Kennebec River Arthurs Hazelnut Brown Ale

Very dark brown ale with lots of creamy head. Aroma is of hazelnuts and caramel. Taste is very much like hazelnuts and beech nuts with a sweet but very strong hazelnut aftertaste. Excellent if you like hazelnuts!

On tap at the brewpub:
Fat hazelnut sweetness is sometimes reminiscent of brown rum without the alcohol splash...The fizzy carbonation doesn’t quite meld with the nutty syrup, and the frail roasted maltiness can’t help either...An easy finish makes it all drinkable, and in the end, after its fading, that sticky sweetness becomes a fun flavor to play with...As advertised at least...

Dark translucent brown with a thin light tan head. Smells of caramel malt and hazelnut. Taste is like the smell, lots of nutty caramel malt and lots of hazelnut. Mouth is crisp and lighter than I anticipated. Goes down like silk. If you like hazelnut, a pretty good beer. If not, leave it alone.
