Flavor has cardboard, grain, and some coffee, but something seems off with the flavor. Still, very cheap at Trader Joes, so no regrets. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2009 Dark brown with a brillian ruby under skin and think head. Strong, nutty, perhaps hazelnut, roasted aroma. Maltiness. Some roasted chocolate and definite toastiness. Flavor is strongly roasted nuts, hazelnut, malts, breadiness, toasted malt and then a wash of dank beer. Sweetly nutty finish. Diacetyl becomes more apparent. Perhaps this uses the Ringwood Ale yeast? Butterscotch flavor gains traction, become distinct from the nuttiness. Very interesting and unusual "porter." dkachur (2416), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2009 I don’t know why people don’t like this so much. It has very big, bold porter flavors--the kind of flavors you could produce through artificial means though these aren’t particularly artificial. A little butter, a little crispy bacon, lots of chocolate and dark roasted malts. Fairly enjoyable, all things considered. Foxbush (462), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 8, 2009 This is good porter. It was a deep black color with roasted nuts and coffee as the aroma. I purchased two bottles of different beersfrom TaderJoe’s on 3/8. The porter was pleasure to drink. The finish was smooth with no bitterness. fidel (999), Livermore, California, USA
